National Research Data Infrastructure: DFG welcomes funding decisions in third selection round

« On 4 November, the Joint Science Conference (GWK) passed the decision to fund seven more consortia and one initiative to provide basic cross-consortia services within the framework of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI). As in the two previous years, today’s decision by the GWK follows the recommendations put forward by the NFDI Expert Committee appointed by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation). With the conclusion of the third round of calls for proposals, for which a total of 16 proposals were submitted, 26 subject-specific and methodological consortia covering all four major scientific disciplines are now being funded as part of the NFDI, as well as one initiative dedicated to NFDI-wide basic services.
