The international initiative Open Access 2020 – or OA2020 for short – actively promotes the conversion of the majority of existing journals from subscription to Open Access and the backing of new, enhanced forms of Open Access publishing. One of the conditions for achieving these goals involves the redeployment of acquisition funds to sustainable Open Access business models.
