Diamond Open Access Megajournal Project : reflections from CUHK Library
« The Hong Kong-based Diamond OA Megajournal Project emerged from discussions between
CUHK Library and CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure). Inspired by successful
models like UCL Open: Environment, the project aims to create a robust platform for publishing
Social Science and Arts and Humanities research. Its scope extends to themes rooted in the cultural
foundations of the Greater Bay Area (Lingnan Studies) and contemporary challenges relevant to
China and the wider world. Open Access (OA) publishing has witnessed significant growth
globally, with various models facilitating free access to scholarly content. Diamond OA, which
removes financial barriers for both readers and authors, is gaining prominence as a more equitable
