LIBER and LERU Oppose TDM Position in EPC’s Copyright Vision 2014

« LIBER and LERU (the League of European Research Universities) have released a letter which publicly states our opposition to the European Publishers Council’s EPC Copyright Vision Paper 2014: Copyright Enabled on the Network.

The letter underlines our shared position on Text and Data Mining and the need for a new Exception in European copyright legislation to accommodate this.

This is backed by the position taken by the EC’s Expert Group on Text and Data Mining that European copyright frameworks should be modernised to include an Exception for Text and Data Mining.
