The growth in global and open research has fuelled structural change in scholarly communications and at the same time created significant challenges in ensuring research integrity. Heidi Ormstad, Rebecca Lawrence, Vidar Røeggen argue the unique expertise of research institutions and publishers mean that any resolution to these issues can only be achieved through collaboration.
